Gunpowder Green in the pot

In my teapot this week is Gunpowder Green.

It's a loose leaf tea, so named because it looks like little gunpowder pellets.

I admit I was a little apprehensive about trying this one, as I'm not usually a green tea fan.

However, I was pleasantly surprised by this!

I steeped it for about 2 minutes, as I like a lighter taste on my palate for green tea.

It was light and refreshing, without any of that 'cut grass' taste I've found in other blends, and tastes delicious as both a hot and iced beverage.

There is a slight residual smokiness to it after tasting, which isn't overpowering and it's rather smooth.

It's certainly piqued my interest at continuing to persevere with drinking green tea as there are numerous health benefits to it.

Overall, a successful first foray into my tea tasting journey, and I'm looking forward to trying the other flavours I received!
